Catherine Truman has worked extensively in both residential design and historic preservation, and leads the firm’s residential work. She is currently leading a Master Planning and conceptual design project for the Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach, FL and a five-building Adirondack-inspired family compound on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Other projects include the restoration and renovation of one of Boston’s most significant houses, the second Harrison Gray Otis House; a contemporary addition to an historic house in Cambridge, MA; as well as other historic homes in Boston’s Beacon Hill.

Past projects include restoration of two historic chapels for St. Paul’s School; renovation of an early 20th century industrial building into a Fine Arts building for the University of Maine; design for the restoration of the Louis Kahn Library at Phillips Exeter Academy; expansion plans for the Milton Academy Dining Hall; renovation to the historic Weston Town Hall; and a Master Plan for the Sotterley Manor House and Plantation, an historic site of 26-wood-frame structures.

Catherine Truman holds a Master of Architecture Degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History from Dartmouth College. She attended the Architectural Association of London’s Graduate Program in Architectural History and Theory and has taught studios at the Boston Architectural Center, Northeastern University, and Yale University and has lectured for the Association of Preservation Technology.
