
Catherine Truman leads ABA’s residential practice and has worked extensively in both residential design and historic preservation. Her projects include planning and design for the Landmark Royal Poinciana Plaza, the largest single commercial complex on the island of Palm Beach; restoration of the landmark Second Harrison Gray Otis House in Boston; a contemporary addition to an historic house in Cambridge; as well as other historic homes in Boston’s Beacon Hill. Other significant projects include a five-building private lakefront retreat; restoration of two historic chapels for St. Paul’s School; and renovation and expansion of the historic Weston Town Hall. Prior to joining ABA, Catherine Truman led several projects for the Historic American Building Survey and Historic American Engineering Record, and worked with the International Council on Monuments and Sites on the documentation of Diocletian’s palace in Croatia.
Catherine Truman holds a Master of Architecture Degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History from Dartmouth College. She attended the Architectural Association of London’s Graduate Program in Architectural History and Theory and has taught studios at the Boston Architectural Center, Northeastern University, and Yale University.
